AceShowbiz - The Weeknd appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to make his daytime television debut by performing his Daft Punk-assisted single "Starboy" on Monday, November 28. The Canadian singer rocked the stage which was surrounded by blue and red lasers.

"He's been compared to everyone from Michael Jackson to Prince," Ellen said during her show before welcoming the "Can't Feel My Face" hitmaker to her stage. Backed by his band, he gave a lively performance and pulled off some Michael Jackson-esque footwork. He also invited audience to clap along to the beat.

The Weeknd released his third studio album "Starboy" on November 25 via XO/Republic Records. He went on a big promo run for the album, including a short movie titled "MANIA", a TV performance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and an exclusive interview with Beats 1/Apple Music.

According to Hits Daily Double, the album is projected to sell between 340,000-350,000 equivalent album units, including 220,000-230,000 traditional album sales, within its opening week. "Starboy" is currently sitting at No. 1 on the iTunes U.S. Top 100 Albums chart, and it is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
