AceShowbiz - Ashanti and Ja Rule reunite on "Helpless", a brand new track from "The Hamilton Mixtape". The 40-year-old rapper and Ashanti play the role of Alexander Hamilton and his wife Eliza on the reinterpretation from the Broadway musical.

Rule starts off the song by singing, "Yeah/ Like the way I came here/ Rule/ Shots/ Lin." Ashanti continues singing, "Baby, I'm helpless/ Look into your eyes, and the sky's the limit I'm/ Helpless, baby/ Down for the count, and I'm drownin' in 'em."

For his verse, Rule raps, "Ashanti, I don't have a dollar to my name/ An acre of land, a troop to command, a dollop of fame/ All I have's my honor, a tolerance for pain/ A couple of college credits and my top-notch brain."

Earlier this month, "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda made appearance on "CONAN" and revealed that Ashanti and Rule were actually the muses for "Helpless". "I do have to say when Ashanti and Ja Rule sing 'Helpless', it will give you all the feels, as the children of the Internet say," Miranda told Conan O'Brien during the interview. "When I was writing that song, I was picturing it as Ashanti and Ja Rule. Eliza's Ashanti, Hamilton's Ja Rule."

Ashanti and Ja Rule have collaborated on numerous songs such as "Always on Time", "Mesmerize", "What's Luv", "Down 4 U", "Wonderful" and more. "Helpless" is their first collaborative single in more than a decade and the latest offering from "The Hamilton Mixtape", which is set for release on December 2. It follows Kelly Clarkson's "It's Quiet Uptown", Sia Furler's "Satisfied" featuring Queen Latifah and Miguel, and Usher's "Wait for It" among other tracks.
