The new Bachelor, Nick Viall, is described as someone who has been 'good,' 'bad' and 'misunderstood' in the latest promo for the upcoming season of the ABC show.

AceShowbiz - ABC is acknowledging Nick Viall as someone who is "controversial but totally worth-watching" in a new promo for "The Bachelor" season 21. Thus, the network claims that the upcoming edition of the reality dating series will be the most entertaining yet.

The latest clip that makes its way out via E! News shows how the ladies are vying for his attention. One says, "People love him, they hate him." Another says, "I've seen the cover and I'm liking the cover," seemingly agreeing with Nick who declares, "I'm killing it!"

Prior to Nick's appearance on "Bachelor in Paradise", producers were eyeing Luke Pell or Chase McNary as their next Bachelor. But they changed their mind following the positive response to Nick on the spin-off.

"Look, the good news is it's worked for him. He has fallen in love on this show and he has sincerely tried to make it work. Unfortunately, he's just come up a little bit short each time. He's done his part, he will give himself to this process. Again, at the end of the day this wasn't an indictment on Luke or Chase as much as it was more of a compliment to Nick in that he is that sincere guy who really does want to make this work," host Chris Harrison explained the decision to choose Nick as the new Bachelor.

The new season of "The Bachelor" kicks off on January 2 at 8 P.M. on ABC.
