AceShowbiz - President Barack Obama has named 21 recipients of this year's Presidential Medal of Freedom. Comedian Ellen DeGeneres, actor Tom Hanks and NBA star Michael Jordan are among the class of 2016. Other honorees include Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Lorne Michaels, Diana Ross and Bruce Springsteen.

The Nation's highest civilian honor is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. The awards will be presented at the White House on November 22.
