The entire Robertson family announced after the season premiere that the current 11th season would be the last for the show.

AceShowbiz - A&E will be hunting duck no more with "Duck Dynasty". The network and the cast made a decision to end the show after the current 11th season. The news was announced after the season premiere on Wednesday, November 16.

"The Robertsons made a big quacking announcement," so the show tweeted along with the announcement video. The entire Robertson family gathered in the clip and Jase said, "We've decided as a family for this to be the final chapter of the Duck Dynasty series."

The eleventh and now final season of "Duck Dynasty" will run through January 18 and then take a hiatus before returning with the seven final episodes starting on March 1. The series finale is slated to air on April 12.

Debuted in 2012, "Duck Dynasty" follows the Robertson family, who runs a successful business making duck calls. The show became a pop culture phenomenon, ranking as the most-watched nonfiction series in cable TV series.

At the height of its success, the show was hit with controversy after cast member Phil Robertson made anti-gay remarks and inflammatory statements about African-Americans in a 2013 interview with GQ. Phil was briefly suspended and the show subsequently took a serious ratings hit.
