A new report has surfaced saying that the sequel to 'Deadpool' will not begin the production early next year.

AceShowbiz - While recent report suggested that "Deadpool 2" might begin its production in January 2017, a new report has emerged saying that the information is not true. Collider was the first to confirm that the report was false, claiming that the listed start dates of several movies in What's Filming were not official.

Even before Tim Miller's departure from the "Deadpool" sequel, sources with knowledge of the project said that it was scheduled to begin filming in March. Therefore, Fox and Ryan Reynolds wouldn't rush to find a new director to replace Miller.

As previously reported, the studio and Reynolds eyed several candidates as a new helmer, and it was "John Wick" co-helmer David Leitch who became the studio's top choice to replace Miller. Oscar-nominated writer Drew Goddard ("The Martian") and Magnus Martens ("Banshee", "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") were also among other contenders.

As of now, "Deadpool 2" doesn't have a release date, but the studio reportedly still wants to release the movie in early 2018. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who were the scribes of the first movie, return to provide the screenplay for the sequel.
