Yung will reprise her 'Daredevil' role as the sai-wielding vigilante on the upcoming Netflix-Marvel series.

AceShowbiz - Elektra is joining "Marvel's The Defenders". Elodie Yung is set to reprise her role as Matt Murdock's on-again, off-again love interest and the sai-wielding vigilante on the upcoming series from Marvel and Netflix. EW first reported the news.

Yung's Elektra was first featured in season 2 of Netflix's "Daredevil". She arrived in Hell's Kitchen to investigate a villainous order called the Hand, asking Matt's help on her mission. But which side she's on when she returns on "The Defenders" is not clear.

[SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't watched "Daredevil" season 2] In the second season finale, the Hand revealed that Elektra is Black Sky, the Hand's weapon, which explains her killer instinct. She died in the last episode, but the Hand seemed to have big plans to resurrect her.

As previously hinted in "The Defenders" teaser, the Hand will be one of the villains on the new series. Charlie Cox's Daredevil will be teaming up with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to face this common enemy. Sigourney Weaver is additionally cast as a big baddie.
