The helmer himself has confirmed that his upcoming movie would not take place 'in the harsh environment of ... suburbia.'

AceShowbiz - It was just several days ago that a report unveiling plot details about Shane Black's new "Predator" movie emerged. The Hollywood Reporter said that the movie would take place "in the harsh environment of ... suburbia."

However, a new report has surfaced suggesting that Black himself has shot down the particular storyline. According to Collider, the helmer said that his upcoming movie wouldn't be set in suburbia, noting it most certainly wouldn't be "about the suburbs."

He previously promised to present a dynamic tonal range to audiences. "I think the 'Predator' movies have slightly veered from typical sci-fi in that there is a sort of thriller aspect to them," he said. "I think it should be scary, I think it should be funny, and I think ultimately it should be wondrous."

The helmer added that the movie should be "about perceiving things that human beings very seldom get a chance to see... I don't mean movie audiences I mean characters in the movie. I'm not saying the movie will be nothing anyone's seen before (laughs)."

Black also confirmed that he would start the production of the film early next year. "Right now we're looking at probably beginning to mid February," he said. "I'm heading up to Vancouver in a week or two to go into a serious pre-production, so we're on the cusp."

The new "Predator" movie is set for a February 9, 2018 release in U.S. theaters. Boyd Holbrook has been tapped to take over the lead role of Special Forces commando. He will be joined by Olivia Munn, who is expected to play a scientist in the upcoming movie.
