George Takei and Misha Collins are among those who practically brand Donald Trump's wife a hypocrite for calling for an end to online bullying considering her husband's insults on Twitter.

AceShowbiz - Melania Trump needs to look a little closer to home before making promises. In her first solo speech since the Republican National Convention, the former model promised that she would end bullying on social media if she becomes the first lady.

"Technology has changed our universe. But like anything that is powerful it can have a bad side," she said on Thursday, November 4 in Berwyn, Pa. "We have seen this already. As adults, many of us are able to handle mean words - even lies. Children and teenagers can be fragile."

She continued, "They hurt when they are made fun of or made to feel less in looks or intelligence. This makes their life hard and forces them to hide and retreat. Our culture has gotten too mean and too rough especially to children and to teenagers. We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other."

She also promised that she would be "an advocate for women and for children" if she becomes a first lady.

But Melania apparently forgot to check her husband's Twitter feed before delivering her speech. People have since taken to Twitter to mock her promise to combat cyberbullying given Donald Trump's mean tweets and insults.

Celebrities like George Takei and Misha Collins are among those who have reacted to Mrs. Trump's speech. "Melania Trump has pledged to take on cyber bullying as a top priority as First Lady. I suggest she begin with her husband," the original "Star Trek" TV series' actor writes. "Supernatural" star Collins chimes in, "As First Lady, Melania Trump would tackle cyberbullying. Her first step: Delete @realDonaldTrump's Twitter account."

"Ghostbusters (2016)" director Paul Feig adds, "You have got to be effing kidding me, right? ..." TV host and comedian Scott Nevins tweets, "Has she ever met her own husband and step kids? Clean up your own house, and take a seat! #NotMyFirstLady." Actor and radio talk show host Montel Williams similarly responds, "Melania Trump is decrying how mean and petty society has become - has she met her husband?"

Another Twitter user brands her a hypocrite, "it's great that melania trump spoke out against bullies but it's so hypocritical of her considering she's married to donald trump." One other user suggests that Melania use her husband as "the poster child for her anti-bullying campaign."
