The 'Frida' star claims that the Republican nominee once planted a false story about her in a tabloid after she turned down his request for a date.

AceShowbiz - Salma Hayek's disdain for Donald Trump apparently started long before he made his controversial statement about Mexican immigrants. The 50-year-old actress has just revealed that she thinks the real-estate tycoon may have planted a false story about her after she turned down his request for a date.
Speaking to El Show del Mandril on Radio Centro 93.9 (via Buzzfeed) on Friday, October 21, she recalled, "When I met that man I had a boyfriend and he tried to become his friend to get my home telephone number. He got my number and he would call me to invite me out."
Salma said she told Mr. Trump she "wouldn't go out with him even if [she] didn't have a boyfriend," something which she felt Trump perceived as "disrespectful." She continued, "He called - well, he wouldn't say he called, but someone told the National Enquirer. Someone told the National Enquirer - I'm not going to say who, because you know that whatever he wants to come out comes out in the National Enquirer. It said that he wouldn't go out with me because I was too short."
The Oscar-nominated actress went on sharing, "Later, he called and left me a message. 'Can you believe this? Who would say this? I don't want people to think this about you.' He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn't think that's why he wouldn't go out with me."
During the interview, Salma also weighed in on Mr. Trump's statement that he would stop the flow of money from Mexican-Americans to their families in Mexico if Mexico won't pay for his border wall. "That's gravely serious," she said. "People don't know about this. Even if you're here legally, a U.S. citizen, you wouldn't be able to send money."
