AceShowbiz - A new trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has been released by Lucasfilm for fans' viewing pleasure. It opens with a flashback sequence showing Mads Mikkelsen's Galen Erso who tells a young Jyn Erso, "Jyn, whatever I do, I do it to protect you. Say you understand," before he is taken by the Imperial soldiers led by Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic.

The next minutes of the video show the now-grown Jyn (Felicity Jones) joining the Rebel Alliance. She wants to find her father as well as steal the imminent major weapon test known as the Death Star after Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma tells her that "he's crucial to the development of the super weapon."

One scene shows her urging Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and other members of the Rebellion, "If my father built this thing, we need to find him." There is also a glimpse of Darth Vader (James Earle Jones) emerging from the shadows before Krennic at the end of the video.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" follows Jyn Erso, a Rebellion soldier and outlaw who is about to experience her biggest challenge when Mon Mothma gives her a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. With the aid of the Rebels, a master swordsman and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, the much-awaited "Star Wars" stand-alone movie is coming to U.S. theaters this year on December 17. It is supported by Forest Whitaker, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang, Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris and Jimmy Smits.
