Gal Gadot Dishes on Wonder Woman's Sexuality in DC Films
Movie

Gadot has addressed the revelation regarding the Amazonian princess' sexuality, saying that 'she can be bisexual' even though her bisexual relationships won't be addressed in the movie.

AceShowbiz - It's just a couple of weeks ago that comic book writer Greg Rucka confirmed Wonder Woman a.k.a. Diana Prince was actually bisexual. And now, Gal Gadot, the actress who portrays the Amazonian princess in the DC movie universe, has addressed the revelation regarding the female superhero's sexuality.

"It's not something we've explored," Gadot told Variety. "It never came to the table, but when you talk theoretically about all the women on Themyscira and how many years she was there, then what he said makes sense. In this movie she does not experience any bisexual relationships. But it's not about that."

The Israeli actress admitted that she supported Rucka's creative decision. However, the movie will feature a budding heterosexual romance between Diana Prince and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) as the said character's bisexual relationships wouldn't be addressed in the big-screen version. "She's a woman who loves people for who they are," she said. "She can be bisexual. She loves people for their hearts."

Gadot went on to talk about the importance of having Patty Jenkins sitting behind the lens for the superhero flick which hits U.S. theaters on June 2, 2017. She claimed that the helmer could ensure that Wonder Woman wasn't just seen as a goddess, but as a woman. "For [Jenkins] it was very important to not just portray her as a goddess," she said.

"But to tell a very simple story of someone who believes in good and believes that people should be happy and lead safe, happy lives," the 31-year-old actress added. "We cared a lot about simplifying Wonder Woman's agenda, because it is simple."
