Halle Berry Blasts a Fan Accusing Her of Being Ashamed of Her Children

The former 'Extant' star, who's been trying to protect her children's privacy, calls out the fan who criticizes her for cropping Nahla and Maceo's faces out of an Instagram photo.

AceShowbiz - Halle Berry has been doing her best to protect her children's privacy. For the sake of her own kids, Nahla Aubrey and Maceo Martinez, the actress shared on Instagram earlier this week a rare picture of them with half of their faces cropped out.

However, she ended up getting criticized by one of her followers, who clearly had no idea why it was important for her to keep her kids out of the spotlight. "What's with the hiding of the faces? They're beautiful children why not show them off," the fan wrote in the comment section.

Apparently, that wasn't the fan's first time to have called her out for hiding her children's faces. "I've noticed you have said this several times now, so let me be clear -- I'm not at all ashamed of my children," Berry responded to the criticism.

"I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children," she explained.

"It's my belief, and I'm not criticizing others who have different beliefs, that it's my job as their mother to protect their privacy as best I can," she continued. "When they grow and they're of age and they want [to] share their images on the Internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day."

A lot of Berry's other followers then came to her defense and showed support for her. "Yes, @halleberry, their privacy is sacred. Brava for such a wise decision in an age full of unwise actions toward children," user hottiehadee said.

"OMG! This is @halleberry IG account. She can post whatever she wants & no one should have any qualms about it. Just because she is a celebrity does not mean you all need to question what or how she posts what she wants on her own IG page. SMH That's like going in someone's living room & questioning all the decor," user bebe0222 added.

After many fans defended Berry, the critic returned to Instagram and explained her earlier comments. "I wasn't being negative in the comments, just stating my opinion and she stated hers which I respect and have always respected," she said. "I stand by my position I want to see more of Halle Berry I love her more than any of you out there otherwise you wouldn't be satisfied with not seeing a lot of her."
