Taylor Swift on Demi Lovato's Diss Over Her Squad: That's Unnecessary
Celebrity

'[Swift] thought it was unnecessary for [Lovato] to make those comments,' a source says after the 'Stone Cold' singer trashed the former country diva's friends in Glamour magazine.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift can't just shake off the negative comments Demi Lovato made about her famous girl squad. The 26-year-old singer reportedly got upset after the former Disney darling criticized her closest friends in an interview with Glamour.

In case you don't know, Lovato trashed Swift and her friends in the cover story for the magazine's latest issue. "I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It's kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it's not real," she said.

In response, a source told E! News that Swift thought those remarks were "unnecessary." The source explained, "Taylor has a tight group of women in her life that all have her and each others' back and sometimes people just want that. She thought it was unnecessary for her to make those comments. They both have never been really good friends."

In her chat with Glamour, Lovato also attacked Swift to defend Katy Perry, whom the latter sings about on her 2015 hit "Bad Blood". "I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment," she said. "We all do things that aren't, but I have to ask myself, Am I content with calling myself a feminist? Yes, because I speak out."

Lovato's harsh opinions drew backlash from lots of her fans, but she refused to apologize. "I get asked questions. I answer them. Sue me," she wrote on Twitter. "Also don't forget that words can be taken out of context when doing interviews.. still not apologizing for saying what everyone want to say. I don't understand why people care so much about what I say in interviews? Do y'all watch the news? Don't y'all got s**t to worry about?"
