Casting has begun as the upcoming new spin of the epic Hua Mulan saga is set to unfold in theaters across the country in winter 2018.

AceShowbiz - Disney's new adaptation of "Mulan" has got a release date. The Mouse House is set to release the movie in winter 2018. It will hit theaters nationwide on November 2 in 3D. It will open two weeks before "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" sequel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is on a fast track to meet the deadline. Casting has been underway for a Chinese actress to play the legendary female warrior Hua Mulan. No director is announced, but Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver ("Jurassic World") are tapped to polish the script.
"Mulan" follows a young woman who disguises herself as a man so she can take her father's place in the army and go to war. With the help of her trusty dragon sidekick Mushu, she becomes a skilled warrior and, eventually, one of the country's greatest heroines.
