AceShowbiz - "Fences" teaser trailer has been released by Paramount Pictures. It features Denzel Washington and Viola Davis who portray Troy, a promising baseball player turned garbage collector, and his wife, Rose, arguing about their hard lives in 1950s Pittsburgh.

The newly-released video opens with his son Cory (Jovan Adepo) asking him in their backyard, "How come you ain't never liked me?" Troy answers, "Liked you? What law is there say I got to like you?" before explaining, "Because you're my son. It's my duty to take care of you. I owe a responsibility to you. I ain't gotta like you."

One scene shows Rose telling her husband, "Everything that boy do, he do for you." Troy responds, "It's not easy for me to admit that I've been standing in the same place for 18 years." Rose angrily says, "Well I've been standing with you... I gave eighteen years of my life to stand in the same spot as you."

"Fences" is directed by Denzel from a screenplay written by August Wilson. It's adapted from Wilson's 1983 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play. It follows an African American father who struggles with race relations in the United States while trying to raise his family in the 1950s and coming to terms with the events of his life.

Scheduled to hit U.S. theaters this year on December 25, the upcoming film also stars Stephen Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, Christopher Mele, Terri Middleton and Saniyya Sydney.
