AceShowbiz - Tom Holland has a secret role in "A Monster Calls". When the J.A. Bayona-directed film was being screened at the Toronto International Film Fest, the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star was mentioned in the "Thanks To" section of the credits.

Holland, who previously starred in Bayona's 2012 "The Impossible", turned out to be "the stand-in for the monster" as revealed by the helmer to The Hollywood Reporter. Young actor Lewis MacDougal, who portrays Conor in the film, added, "It gave me something to look at when I'm talking to the monster."

Based on the award-winning children's fantasy novel, the upcoming movie follows 12-year-old Conor who attempts to deal with his mother's illness and the bullying of his classmates. He escapes into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss and faith.

Also starring Felicity Jones and Sigourney Weaver, the fantasy film is coming to U.S. theaters on January 6, 2017.

Meanwhile, Jon Watts' "Spider-man: Homecoming" has finished filming in Atlanta. Holland took to Instagram to share a picture of him who would be heading to New York on Friday, September 23. "See you soon Atlanta. It's been real," the 20-year-old actor wrote in the caption.
