Co-creator Ryan Murphy reveals that 'Roanoke' is connected to Finn Wittrock's character Dandy Mott on 'Freak Show' and promises that there are more 'AHS' alums that will pop up in the current season.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Murphy has previously stated that all the seasons of "American Horror Story" are connected and that "Roanoke" would show more connections to previous seasons. Now, the series co-creator reveals that "Roanoke" is directly tied to "Freak Show" through its character Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock).

The writer and executive producer tells EW that the currently airing sixth season will reveal the Mott family origin story. "We explain how the Motts began which is funny," he teases. But the Motts are not the only references to previous seasons that we will see on "Roanoke".

Murphy says there are many more "AHS" alums that will appear in the sixth season. "Many, many, many that you have not seen in years that you have wanted to see," he promises.

Echoing Cuba Gooding Jr.'s recent statement that there were many stories layered in this season, Murphy also says that there will be a big twist beginning in episode 6. "You'll see starting in episode 6, the show has a huge turn and the thing that you think you're watching is not what you're watching," he says.

Co-creator Brad Falchuk says that the huge twist is another thing they have to keep a secret in addition to this season's theme. "Even though the subject matter has gotten out, it's irrelevant because nobody gets what we're doing," he claims. "No matter what you think it is, it's not that. Then, episode 6 comes and you're like, 'Wait! What happened?' "

Murphy adds, "It's a hat on a hat on a hat on a hat that we've had to protect." Murphy thinks the twist separates the season into two halves, while Falchuk says it's like watching three unique stories. "It's like [episodes] 1-5, 6-9, and 10 is its own thing," he gushes.

"AHS: Roanoke" airs Wednesdays at 10 P.M. on FX.
