The 'Can't Feel My Face' hitmaker posted a cryptic message about 'new era' before deleting all his posts from the photo sharing site on Monday, September 19.

AceShowbiz - The Weeknd deleted all his Instagram posts on Monday, September 19. Just before wiping his page, the "Can't Feel My Face" hitmaker wrote, "This my last post before the new era. Happy birthday to the legend @lamarctaylor, wouldn't be here without the vision. Let's shut Toronto down tonight. XO."

The Weeknd also changed his bio to "STARBOY", possibly the title of his new album or his new alias. His profile picture showed a close-up look at his eyes.

On Twitter, meanwhile, The Weeknd changed his profile picture and background to a blank black screen. On September 15, the "Love Me Harder" singer tweeted a falling leaf and hourglass emoji, possibly hinting at an autumn release date for the follow up to "Beauty Behind the Madness".

The Weeknd recently gushed over his next album in an interview with VMAN Magazine. "There are new inspirations on this album," he explained, "The production feels aggressive but still sexy. The Smiths, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Prince, and DeBarge play roles. We wrote it all in Los Angeles. I think it'll be the best-sounding album I've ever done. It's hard to label the sound because, when I first came out, nobody would label it R&B. I just want to keep pushing the envelope without it feeling forced."

The Weeknd recently collaborated with Cashmere Cat for the title track of the latter's album "Wild Love". He also has possible collaborations with Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake.

Mariah revealed in a recent interview that she might be collaborating with the 26-year-old singer on her next album. Justin, meanwhile, said in May that his collaboration might appear on The Weeknd's new album.
