AceShowbiz - Jamie Dornan is reportedly eyed to join the cast of "Robin Hood: Origins". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Fifty Shades of Grey" actor is in final negotiations to join Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx and Eve Hewson in Lionsgate's take on the British archer-thief who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.

Egerton is already on board to portray Robin Hood, Foxx has been tapped to play Little John and Hewson will portray Maid Marian. If the deal is sealed, Dornan will portray Will Scarlett, a stylish member of the title character's band of Merry Men who also happens to be the husband of Maid Marian.

"Robin Hood: Origins", which will be directed by Otto Bathurst, centers on the heroic outlaw who returns from fighting in The Crusades and finds that Sherwood Forest is rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws and they take matters into their own hands.

Said to feature a "gritty" tone, the script for "Robin Hood: Origins" is written by Joby Harold, who previously penned Guy Ritchie's revisionist take on Camelot titled "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword". Appian Way's Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson serve as producers alongside Harold and Tory Tunnell through their Safehouse Pictures.

The production is planned to begin in Budapest next year in January. The official release date has yet to be set, but the movie is expected to be released in the United States in 2017.

Dornan recently appeared alongside Cillian Murphy in "Anthropoid". He will next be seen in war film "The Siege of Jadotville" hitting Netflix this year on October 7. The 34-year-old actor will reprise his role as Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades Darker" which will arrive in U.S. theaters in February 10, 2017.
