Following the report that Warner Bros. is courting the British actor to reprise his role as the iconic wizard in 'The Cursed Child', he says that he doesn't want 'to go back to anything like that.'

AceShowbiz - Following recent report that Warner Bros. is courting Daniel Radcliffe to reprise his role as the iconic, heroic wizard in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" film, the actor finally speaks out. He reveals that he doesn't want "to go back to anything like that" and will be "happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it."

After accepting a Rising Star award at the Deauville Film Festival, the 27-year-old British actor tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I'm never going to close the door, that would be a stupid thing to do." He continues by noting, "But I think I'll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it."

"The Woman in Black" actor claims that he doesn't fit for playing the role of the iconic wizard in "The Cursed Child" as it calls for a much older Harry. "At the moment it's not even a concern because I'm too young to play the character," he says. "But even in 10 years' time I would still feel strange about going back to it."

"There's a part of me that's like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to 'Harry Potter', there's a chance we'd make what 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was to the original 'Star Wars', but there's also the chance that we'd make ['Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace']," he jokes. "So I don't want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved."

Radcliffe recently wrapped his upcoming adventure drama "Jungle" and is currently working on a script that he hopes to direct in the future. "It's not like it's bad, it's just not ready yet," he says. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is currently gearing up for the release of a spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starring Eddie Redmayne which comes to U.S. theaters this year on November 18.
