Colbert takes a jab at the disgraced politician who has been caught sexting a woman who is not his wife for the third time, thanking him for popping up during slow-news month.

AceShowbiz - Thanks to Anthony Weiner, Stephen Colbert now has a thing to talk about on his show. Opening his "Late Show" Monday, August 29, the comedian poked fun at the latest sexting scandal involving the former Congressman. "I just want to extend my thanks to him, for rising to the occasion with this truly rock solid story. Boner," he said, playing with his choice of words.

Colbert said his "heart goes out" to Weiner's wife Huma Abedin, who announced earlier that day that she's leaving her husband. "That's right... She's finally cut off the Weiner," the comedian quipped. He apparently felt for her as he said, "You know what they say: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, dammit, Anthony, just keep it in your pants until after the election!"

Commenting on her statement in which she said, "During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy," Colbert said it's "something she's been begging her husband for years now."

Also on "Late Show", Colbert spoofed Beyonce Knowles' performance at the 2016 MTV VMAs on Sunday night. In a clip he played on the talk show, he claimed to be part of the R&B diva's set. Donning a white furry coat and brimmed hat similar to those donned by Beyonce, he appeared as silhouette next to Bey on the stage to respond to her monologue.

"I tried to make a home out of you," Bey said, to which Colbert responded, "I was the floorboards and the sheetrock." She continued, "But doors lead to trap doors. A stairway leads to nothing." He then complained, "I had to climb out the window just to get to work this morning. It's ridiculous."

After maintaining sharp gaze, he broke character and screamed for help as he "smelled something burning" and realized that he's on fire.
