The new video features director Tim Burton and some of the female stars including Ella Purnell who talk about the strong female characters in the adaptation of Ransom Riggs' novel of the same name.

AceShowbiz - A new featurette of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" has been released by 20th Century Fox ahead of the film's debut next month. The new video features director Tim Burton and some of the female stars including Ella Purnell who talk about the "fierce female" characters in the film.

"They are strong, they are mysterious," says the helmer. "There are a lot of powerful female characters in the movie," says Purnell, who portrays a weather-controlling teenager named Emma. "They don't take any crap," she adds. Co-star Eva Green claims that her character Miss Peregrine is "kind of a warrior. She will do absolutely anything for her children."

Burton and Green also talk about the special abilities of the peculiar children which include Lauren McCrostie's Olive before one scene in the video features a glimpse of Olive creating fire to burn a building. Green also calls the female cast members "eccentric" and "fearless."

The fantasy film follows 16-year-old Jake (Asa Butterfield) as he takes the advice of his therapist to set on a journey. He finds the secret orphanage where his grandfather claims to have stayed as a child. As he explores its abandoned bedroom and hallways, it becomes clear that the children are more than peculiar. He is later given the task by Miss Peregrine to protect the children from horrible creatures known as Wights and Hollowgasts.

Jane Goldman provides the screenplay of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" based on Ransom Riggs' novel of the same name. Samuel L. Jackson portrays the villainous Baron in the film. Cameron King, Thomas Odwell, Joseph Odwell, Pixie Davies, Chris O'Dowd, Allison Janney, Kim Dickens and Judi Dench are also among the cast members.

The fantasy film hits U.S. theaters this year on September 30.
