The 'Community' alum was asked about the casting rumor, but he didn't confirm whether or not he had casting talks with Lucasfilm.

AceShowbiz - Donald Glover has addressed rumor that he's the top choice to take the role of young Lando Calrissian in the second "Star Wars" stand-alone movie. The "Community" alum was asked about the casting rumor during his recent interview discussing his involvement on "Atlanta".

Speaking to TIME, Glover said, "Yep. There are rumors." He didn't confirm whether or not he had casting talks with Lucasfilm, though. "I mean, I grew up on it. My dad was a big fan. I had all the toys when I was little. I had a Darth Vader with the lightsaber he has. It was cool. It's a dynasty. It's like the bible. I love that franchise," he added.

Plot details are still kept under wraps, but it is described as an origin story about Han Solo, who is portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich, and his best buddy Chewbacca. Lord and Miller will direct the untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II from a screenplay written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. The filming is set to start next January for a May 25, 2018 release in U.S. theaters.

Meanwhile, Glover has apparently finished filming his part in Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" which is set for a July 7, 2017 release, saying, "The movie was fun to shoot." He added, "I'm glad I got the opportunity. You don't want it to feel like some sort of affirmative action. This wasn't that at all. I know the director, he's doing a really good job and good ideas."
