Jennifer Lawrence Tops Forbes' List of 2016 Highest-Paid Actresses

J.Law is named the world's biggest-earning actress, beating Melissa McCarthy, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Aniston among others.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lawrence is the biggest moneymaker among Hollywood actresses this year. She leads the Forbes' 2016 list with an estimated $46 million. Some of her money comes from blockbuster movies "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" and "X-Men: Apocalypse", and her lucrative deal as a lead for upcoming sci-fier "Passengers".

The actress' earnings, however, dropped 11.5|percent| from her 2015 total of $52 million. Although she retains her last year spot at the top, her payday is way less than her male counterparts. As a comparison, Robert Downey Jr. topped the list of 2015 highest-paid actors with an estimated $80 million. The new list will be updated later this week.

But when it comes the biggest-paid celebrity in showbiz, the title goes to none other than Taylor Swift. None of the movie stars comes close to the country/pop singer. She is estimated to pocket more than twice of what Downey Jr. made, raking in a whooping $170 million from ticket sales of the numerous sold-out concerts during her world tour.

J.Law's 2016 domination is followed by Melissa McCarthy. She becomes the runner-up with an estimated $33 million. Thanks to her role in "Ghostbusters" remake, she is up $10 million from 2015. Scarlett Johansson rounds up the top 3 with $25 million and Jennifer Aniston trails closely behind with $21 million.
