AceShowbiz - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy have been confirmed to appear in "Avengers: Infinity War". "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" actor Vin Diesel spilled the beans during a Facebook live stream on Friday, August 19, saying that the extraterrestrial tree creature Groot and his fellow Guardians would be in the third installment of "The Avengers" film series.

Vin broke the news about the space superheroes joining the Avengers in the almost-30-minute video. His real objective was to show off an award he received from Facebook for having more than 100 million fans, though. "Now, the Guardians will be included in 'Avengers: Infinity War'," he said, "and that's incredibly exciting." He added, "You were told before everybody," addressing the live audience.

The 49-year-old actor didn't share any more details regarding the cast and the plot. However, directors Joe and Anthony Russo late last year hinted at a massive scope and a large cast ensemble the film will have. Joe said, "You won't be disappointed in the scale of those movies, or in the amount of characters that are in them. As mentioned, 20 films of storytelling will intersect in those movies."

Before supporting "Avengers: Infinity War" which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018, Vin will lend his voice to Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" which is set for a May 5, 2017 release. In addition to Vin, the core cast of the Guardians includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Dave Bautista.
