Movie

Fans are wondering what character she actually plays as the Disney Channel star is simply credited as Michelle, a non-comicbook character who is one of the classmates of Tom Holland's Peter Parker.

AceShowbiz - It has been widely known that Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman landed a key role in "Spider-Man: Homecoming". However, fans are wondering what character she actually plays as Marvel and Sony Pictures have been a bit secretive about her role. Zendaya is simply credited as Michelle, a non-comicbook character who is described as one of the classmates of Tom Holland's Peter Parker.

According to TheWrap, the "Shake It Up" and "K.C. Undercover" star will actually play [SPOILER ALERT!] the long-time love interest of Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson. Sony as well as the representatives for Marvel and the 19-year-old actress haven't given any comments regarding the reports.

Mary Jane was famously brought to life by Kirsten Dunst in the first "Spider-Man" trilogy starring Tobey Maguire as the titular hero. The character was not included in "The Amazing Spider-Man" film series, since director Marc Webb wanted to focus on Parker's relationship with his high school girlfriend, Gwen Stacy.

In the upcoming solo flick which is directed by Jon Watts from a script written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, Holland's Spider-Man will be back to his high-school roots. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Michael Keaton, Logan Marshall-Green and Martin Starr.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will swing into U.S. theaters on July 7, 2017.
