'The Walking Dead' Showrunner Teases 'a Hard Goodbye' and 'Unthinkable Dangers' in Season 7

Previewing what's coming next in the new season, Scott M. Gimple says, 'What happens in episode 1 will shatter the lives of those who survive and will render the narrative in different trajectories.'

AceShowbiz - Prepare your tissue, "The Walking Dead" fans! As we're dying to know who will die at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the seventh season premiere, showrunner Scott M. Gimple has said that the answer to the mystery would be heartbreaking.

In a message read by host Chris Hardwick during "The Walking Dead Season 7 Preview Special" on Sunday, August 14, Gimple said, "To the friends, fans, and curious, committed, the uninitiated, and the OGs, you know the beginning and it's almost here. Enjoy your summer, because the beginning is someone's end. But it is a beginning."

The exec producer continued, "What happens in episode one will shatter the lives of those who survive and will render the narrative in different trajectories. In which we will see our characters in completely new situations torn from the pages of the comic and remixed in The Walking Dead Remixnator 5000."

"We'll see all new all different worlds with new friends, enemies and other. With alignments ranging from lawful good to chaotic evil and all the neutrals in between," he went on teasing what would be seen in the new season.

"We'll see unthinkable dangers from the damnedest of places. Yes, there will be blood, but there will also be cobbler. We kid you not. There's going to be a hard goodbye in the beginning, but you know that, and it's almost here. As Simon says, be good to each another," he concluded.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 at 9 P.M. ET on AMC. Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon recently suggested, "Get somebody you care about and hold their hand," when watching the season opener. He teased, "You'll probably cry. You'll probably smash your television set, so surround your room with a lot of happy things."
