'Avengers' Director Joss Whedon to Helm 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' Musical Crossover?

The director who has helmed the first two Marvel superhero team-up movies has reportedly been booked to serve behind the lens for DC musical crossover.

AceShowbiz - The musical crossover between "The Flash" and "Supergirl" has reportedly found a notable director. According to a scoop from That Hashtag Show, Joss Whedon is expected to sit behind the lens for the upcoming two-part episode due 2017.

Whedon is no stranger to superhero genre. He has directed two Marvel movies, "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron". He also has history with musical, helming the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode "Once More, With Feeling", a "Glee" episode "Dream On" and "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". The latter two feature Neil Patrick Harris.

The songs are still kept secret, but executive producer Greg Berlanti has said they "have been talking about trying to write at least one original song per episode." While details of the crossover are still scarce, Music Meister is rumored to be the villain and Neil Patrick Harris who voiced the character in "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" animated series might reprise his role.
