Rihanna to Perform and Receive MTV Video Vanguard Award at 2016 VMAs

RiRi is scheduled to perform her biggest hits and get the special Michael Jackson award at the MTV Video Music Awards.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna will get a special honor at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards on August 28 at New York's Madison Square Garden. She is expected to perform medley of her biggest hits before receiving Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

RiRi follows Justin Timberlake who got the special award in 2013, Beyonce Knowles in 2014, and Kanye West in 2015. Other past recipients include the King of Pop himself, Madonna, Guns N' Roses, Beastie Boys and Britney Spears. The award was created in 1984 and then renamed after MJ in 1991.

The Bajan songstress has won Video of the Year at the VMAs twice for "Umbrella" and "We Found Love". This year, she is vying for Best Female Video for "Work" and gets a double nomination in Best Collaboration Video for her Drake-featured single and Calvin Harris-assisted "This Is What You Came For".
