Rihanna and Anne Hathaway Join 'Ocean's Eight'

RiRi and Hathaway will join the 'Ocean's Eleven' remake alongside Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling.

AceShowbiz - Two more actresses have been added to the upcoming all-female cast of "Ocean's Eleven" remake. According to Deadline, Rihanna and Anne Hathaway are close to ink deals to join the "Ocean's Eight" to be directed by Gary Ross.

The story is still kept under tight wraps, but the movie is rumored to have a group of eight protagonists instead of the traditional eleven. Ross writes the script with Olivia Milch while "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh serves as a producer.

RiRi and Hathaway are expected to join Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Asian-American rapper/actress Awkwafina. One more name is needed to complete the cast. Jennifer Lawrence was previously linked to the flick but scheduling conflicts forced her to back down.

"It's a really good script," Carter told Entertainment Weekly back in June. "It's a great script, and it's great for women. Just hilarious." Meanwhile, Ross described the remake as "an extension and a continuation." "I think it's a pretty similar tone," he told /Film. "We're different filmmakers, obviously, so there will be those differences."
