Woody Allen's Amazon Series Starring Miley Cyrus Gets Title and Premiere Date

The six-episode series will be set in the 1960s during the turbulent times when the United States was on the verge of revolution.

AceShowbiz - Details of Woody Allen's first small-screen project have been revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. The series will have six half-hour episodes. Aptly titled "Crisis in Six Scenes", it will premiere on September 30.

The new Amazon show will take place in the 1960s "during the turbulent times in the United States when a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down." It stars Allen and Miley Cyrus.

The 80-year-old actor/director/writer will play a writer named Sidney Muntzinger. According to a sneak peek shown at the TCA, he will get a James Dean haircut. He will also clash with Cyrus' character who brands him a "boob" and a "stooge."

Amazon also announces other new series "One Mississippi" starring comedian Tig Notaro is set for September 9, "Fleabag" for September 16, "Good Girls Revolt" for September 28 and "Goliath" starring Billy Bob Thornton for September 14.

Meanwhile, "The Man in the High Castle" will return with a new season on December 16, "Transparent" is due September 23, "Red Oaks" is scheduled for November 11 and "Mozart in the Jungle" will be back on December 9.
