The Allman Brothers star announces a three-month break from the road until late October due to 'serious health issues.'

AceShowbiz - Gregg Allman is forced to pull the plug on his numerous scheduled concerts due to health emergency. The 68-year-old Allman Brothers star is treated for "serious health issues" at the Mayo Clinic.

"I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better and back on the road as soon as I can," he says. "I've been working hard with my band, my pride and joy, to play our music for everyone. We'll see y'all in October."

Among his canceled gigs are his August 11 concert at Pennsylvania's Peach Music Festival and his September 16 set at San Diego's Kaaboo Festival. He is expected to resume his tour at his own Laid Back Festival in Atlanta on October 29. He will next have a 10-night residency at New York's City Winery starting November 6.

Back in 2011, Gregg Allman also cancelled his tour due to health scare. He took a six-week hiatus after suffering from an upper respiratory condition stemming from a successful liver transplant he had the previous year.
