'Suicide Squad' Confirms Another DC Superhero's Appearance

The first track from the David Ayer-directed film, titled 'Task Force X' and composed by Oscar winner Steven Price, has also been released.

AceShowbiz - Just a week before its release, the highly-anticipated "Suicide Squad" adds another major character from DC Universe. The Flash, portrayed by Ezra Miller, has been confirmed to make an appearance in the upcoming anti-hero movie which hits theaters next week.

The news was made public in the "Suicide Squad" press notes from critics screenings Warner Bros. held on Thursday, July 28. Miller, who is also set to appear in upcoming "Justice League", recently wrapped shooting for the scenes that will be inserted into the anti-hero flick.

According to sources, the scenes will be featured in the movie itself rather than in post-credit sequence. It will mark Miller's second appearance as the Scarlet Speedster in DC films after appearing in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".

The first track, called "Task Force X" and composed by Oscar-winning Composer Steven Price ("Gravity"), from the David Ayer-directed film has also been released. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Price explains how he scored the song. He says, "Guitar was always my first love, and it was something I never really got into my writing work."

He reveals that he was inspired by David Bowie in composing the song. He says, "With this, the moment I saw it, there was something about the way it looks that made me feel like there was a sleazy '70s sort of thing, and that made me think of David Bowie records, and 'Station to Station'."

"Suicide Squad" centers on a secret government organization led by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) giving a mission to a task force comprising of super villains, the Suicide Squad. They are assigned to execute dangerous tasks in exchange for shorter prison sentences.

The film stars Will Smith in lead role of expert marksman and assassin Deadshot and Jared Leto in the opposing side as psychopathic supervillain Joker. They are joined by Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Cara Delevingne and Karen Fukuhara.

"Suicide Squad" hits U.S theaters on August 5.
