The 'Star Trek Beyond' actor goes bald, but sports thick beard and mustache for his role in the upcoming Marvel superhero movie.

AceShowbiz - Fresh off his clean-cut appearance in "Star Trek Beyond", Karl Urban gets an edgy makeover for his role in "Thor: Ragnarok". The actor recently shaved his head as he began working on the Marvel film on the Gold Coast in Australia.

The New Zealand-born actor debuted his new look on Twitter and Facebook. "Thanks for the haircut !!@TaikaWaititi," he credited the movie's director in the caption of the photo posted on Twitter. He also wrote on Facebook, "Less is more for Thor!"

While he went bald, Urban, who has been growing his mustache and beard for quite some time, keeps the facial hair intact to portray Skurge a.k.a. The Executioner, who serves the villainous Hela, portrayed by Cate Blanchett.

The plot details of the third "Thor" film have been kept under wraps. Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as the God of Thunder, joined by returning cast members Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins as well as new additions Tessa Thompson and Jeff Goldblum. Mark Ruffalo will additionally reprise his Marvel character the Hulk.

Stephany Folsom wrote the script. The film is due out in U.S. theaters on November 3, 2017.
