The 28-year-old hunk is registered as a Republican and will face Democratic incumbent Dan Pabon in the November 8 general election.

AceShowbiz - Ben Higgins can now add "politician" to his resume. It's was recently confirmed that the hunk, who was featured in season 20 of the hit ABC show "The Bachelor", would be running for public office in Colorado.

Higgins is registered as a Republican and will run to represent Colorado's House District 4. He's going to face Dan Pabon, a Democratic incumbent who made headlines after pleading guilty to drunken driving in March, in the general election on November 8.

According to Denver Post, Higgins joined the race after small business owner William "Willie" B. Pinkston withdrew his candidacy earlier this month. He has yet to publicly announce his candidacy, but a new website has already been set up where people can support him.

Higgins sure is a busy man. He's currently preparing his wedding to fiancee Lauren Bushnell and working on their "Bachelor" spinoff, "Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After", which premieres in October 2016 on Freeform.

Some people have criticized Higgin's decision to be a politician, saying he's just trying to drum up interest in his and his partner's new TV show. Responding to the criticism, the 28-year-old said, "I am definitely not a politician, but I have a lot to offer through my years in the financial services industry and, more importantly, my work in charitable and humanitarian organizations."
