AceShowbiz - Lionsgate has hit the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con to promote its upcoming "Power Rangers". As part of the promotional effort, the studio displays Saban's color-coded superheroes' helmets along with the Power Coins. A closer look at them can be seen in a video taken from the studio's booth which has arrived online.

Judging from the metallic look, it's possible that the film will use CGI to get an organic nature look as seen in the latest picture which features the characters without their masks. As for the Power Coins, they look like rough pieces of amber rocks. The titular heroes will likely use those devices to form their armor in the film.

The cast of "Power Rangers" movie, including Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin and Becky G, will attend the panel which is planned for Friday, July 22 at 11:30 A.M. in Room 5AB. Lionsgate is reportedly going to drop the first footage or trailer for the upcoming movie reboot in the convention.

"Power Rangers" follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove and the world are on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, the heroes discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet, but to do so they have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

"Power Rangers" also stars Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston and David Denman. The film is directed by Dean Israelite from a screenplay written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. Haim Saban produces the film along with Brian Casentini and Alison Shearmur. The film is set for a March 24, 2017 U.S. release.
