AceShowbiz - Director Gareth Edwards was joined by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" cast members at Star Wars Celebration on Friday, July 15 in London. They unveiled new tidbits from the film exclusively at the convention, including a new trailer that teased the return of Darth Vader in the stand-alone movie.

The trailer opens with someone who seems to be young Jyn Erso running on a field as an Imperial ship soars above her. "There isn't much time. Every day, we grow weaker. While the day grows grimmer, we still have a chance to make a real difference," the older self of Erso, portrayed by Felicity Jones, says in voiceover.

The video also shows new ships flying over a desert planet and other new scenes in the film. The ending of the trailer features the sound of Darth Vader's iconic breathing and his reflection on a black floor.

Panel host Gwendoline Christie also captured the moment at the celebration. She took to Twitter to share with fans the picture of her and the "Rogue One" crew, including Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Jones, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" centers on Jyn, a Rebellion soldier and outlaw, who is about to experience her biggest challenge when Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) gives her a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. With the aid of the Rebels, a master swordsman and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks.

Based on a screenplay written by Chris Weitz, the film will hit U.S. theaters on December 16.
