The Dana Scully depicter shrugs off the Emmy snub with a throwback photo of her and co-star David Duchovny at the 1995 Emmy Awards.

AceShowbiz - "The X-Files" was no where to be found in the long list of the nominations for the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards that was announced on early Thursday, July 14. Unlike fans who were disappointed by the snub, Gillian Anderson took it in stride and even poked fun at it with a throwback photo.

The actress, who won an Emmy in 1997 and received three other nominations for her role as Agent Dana Scully on the sci-fi series, posted on Twitter an old photo of her and co-star David Duchovny at the 1995 Emmy Awards. "Shame they didn't nominate us. Just think what fashion trends we might have started," she wrote along with it.

Duchovny himself has been nominated twice at the Emmy Awards for his character Fox Mulder, though he didn't win any.

But "The X-Files" wasn't the biggest snub at this year's nominations for the biggest television event. "The Good Wife" and its lead actress Julianna Margulies, "American Horror Story: Hotel" star Lady GaGa, "Outlander", "Orange Is The New Black" and its stars, Eva Green of "Penny Dreadful" as well as "The Big Bang Theory" didn't get the recognition in major categories which some think they deserved.
