Just hours before the duo were slated to perform in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 12, the concert venue was cleared out by police because of a suspicious package.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas's concert venue in New Jersey was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, July 12 after police discovered a suspicious package. Police cleared out the Prudential Center in Newark from all staffers at around 3 P.M.

Cops found the package near an exterior wall of the arena. However, the package turned out to be just a microwave. It's unclear why someone left the appliance there, but sources tell TMZ that police are on high alert due to the sniper attack which killed five officers in Dallas last week.

Prior to the evacuation, Nick shared on Twitter a photo of him and Demi posing with their fans. He captioned it, "Guys, @ddlovato and I wanna hang with you before our show and take a few pics. You down?"

After the evacuation, he retweeted a picture shared by Prudential Center.

The "Future Now Tour" in Newark has just begun with Mike Posner kicking off the show.

On Monday, July 11, Demi and Nick posted a picture of them promoting their New Jersey concert while posing in a private jet. The "Body Say" songstress captioned it, "@NickJonas and I have been having a blast on the #hondacivictour so far!! Thanks to @NetJets for getting us from stop to stop. See you tomorrow, Newark!!"

Nick, meanwhile, wrote alongside the snap, "Tomorrow the #HondaCivicTour hits Newark, NJ. Big thank you to @NetJets for getting us there to see you guys."
