'The Leftovers' actress Coon will star opposite Ewan McGregor on the FX anthology series, while 'Blue Bloods' alum Esposito will join Wilmer Valderrama as a new addition to the cast of the CBS show.

AceShowbiz - "Fargo" has found its new leading lady. Carrie Coon, who is currently starring on HBO's "The Leftovers", has landed the female lead role in the third season of the critically acclaimed comedy-crime anthology series.

Coon will play Gloria Burgle, the chief of the Eden Valley police, and a newly divorced mother, who is struggling to understand this new world around her where people connect more intimately with their phones than the people right in front of them. TVLine further describes the character as a practical woman who grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon catches fire and everyone else panics.

Ewan McGregor was previously cast as brothers named Emmit and Ray Stussy who not only look quite different but also lead two different lives. Emmit is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, he sees himself as an American success story.

His slightly younger brother, on the other hand, is more of a cautionary tale. Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, he has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he's been dealt, and he blames Emmit for his misfortunes.

Production is slated to begin later this year for a 2017 premiere on FX.

In other casting news, "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" is adding another actor to the cast following the departure of original star Michael Weatherly. Former "Blue Bloods" star Jennifer Esposito will take on series regular role of NCIS Special Agent Agent Alexandra "Alex" Quinn.

Quinn is an experienced agent who left field work and became an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center. She will be lured back into the field by Gibbs (Mark Harmon), who will take advantage of her sharp wit, quick mind and immense talent as a federal agent.

"We couldn't be happier to have Jennifer Esposito joining us for season 14," said executive producer Gary Glasberg in a statement. "She embodies everything that we hoped for in the character of Quinn and we can't wait to have her come be a part of our team."

Esposito joins Wilmer Valderrama who has been cast as a once-grounded NCIS field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced. Duane Henry, who joined the cast last season in the recurring role of MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves, has also been upgraded to series regular for the 14th season, which will kick off Tuesday, September 20 at 8/7c on CBS.
