Watch President Obama serenade his daughter Malia, whose birthday falls on Independence Day, with a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' with Lamar and Monae onstage.

AceShowbiz - Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae helped the First Family, military veterans and White House staff celebrate the Independence Day at the White House. The two singers were chosen by President Barack Obama as musical performers for the annual White House Fourth of July party on Sunday.
Monae's set included a cover of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy", while Lamar mostly played songs from his "good kid, m.A.A.d city" album. Following Monae's performance, President Obama took the stage to deliver a speech about the meaning of Independence Day.
He then joked, "Because it's a job of fathers to embarrass their daughters, I've got one last job. It just so happens we celebrate our country's birthday on the same day as my oldest daughter's birthday, so just a quick Happy Birthday for Malia," before launching into a rendition of "Happy Birthday" to serenade his daughter Malia whose birthday falls on July 4. Malia then joined her father onstage and gave him a hug.
This year, the annual picnic which usually took place on the South Lawn was moved indoors due to rain and scattered thunderstorms in Washington DC.
