A film critic stirs controversy for suggesting the 'Bridget Jones' Baby' star was not the same actress because her face looked different.

AceShowbiz - Renee Zellweger is defended by fellow actresses Christina Applegate and Rose McGowan against a film critic named Owen Gleiberman. He decided he didn't like "Bridget Jones's Baby", claiming Zellweger no longer looked like Bridget Jones because the actress' face had changed.

"She doesn't look like Bridget Jones!" Gleiberman whined in a column on Variety. "Celebrities, like anyone else, have the right to look however they want, but the characters they play become part of us. I suddenly felt like something had been taken away."

"I'm sorry. But this is highly offensive," Applegate reacted on Twitter soon after the piece was published. "Our faces change. My eyes are smaller. My nose is bigger. I have jowls.tbc. But if I decided to play Kelly bundy again, I would be her. Just different. Older, and wiser. Well, maybe not that."

She added in defense of Zellweger, "I have lines all over my face. You know what from? Years of laughing. And sun damage. That is a b***h."

McGowan was not impressed with the film critic either. "You are a f**king idiot, Owen Gleiberman. Good hire @variety," she sarcastically tweeted. She continued, "Way to contribute to the pervasive f**ked up-ness that is Hollywood @owengleiberman."

"And I fully hope and expect every movie I direct to get a terrible review from your archaic out of date white male dominated rag #variety," she went on.
