The 'Dawson's Creek' alum turns into the EDM star and shows what his 'normal' life looks like in the interesting ad released ahead of the festival's launch later this summer.

AceShowbiz - Thanks to James Van Der Beek, you can see what a day in Diplo's life looks like. The "Dawson's Creek" alum was recently hired to play the EDM star in a weird-but-entertaining ad to promote the latter's Mad Decent Block Party.

In the just-released video, Van Der Beek as the Major Lazer member tries, but apparently fails, to convince viewers that his life is pretty normal. At the beginning, he says in front of the camera, "You know, people come up to me all the time, they say, 'Diplo, man, your life must be crazy!' Nah. It's just life, fam."

The clip then gives glimpses of a harpist whom he hires as his alarm clock and some employees dressed as elves and working in a Christmas threes-filled studio. The producer is shown fighting ninjas and riding a horse on a rooftop before telling viewers to join him at the block party this summer.

This year's Mad Decent Block Party launches on July 30 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kesha (formerly Ke$ha), DJ Tiesto, DJ Snake, AlunaGeorge, Baauer, D.R.A.M., Boi-1da, Kaskade and Tory Lanez are among acts lined up for the festival.
