The 'Stranger Things' star also says that her ex-fiance was never violent and abusive towards anybody during the four years she dated him.

AceShowbiz - Winona Ryder is seemingly surprised by Amber Heard's accusation that Johnny Depp both physically and emotionally abused "The Danish Girl" actress during their one-year marriage. The "Beetlejuice" actress came to the actor's defense and said he was never violent towards her during their four-year relationship.

In an interview with Time, Winona said, "I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said. He was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all towards me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves."

Winona later stressed that she didn't accuse anyone of telling lies and couldn't speak about Amber's experience. "I wasn't there. I don't know what happened," the "Stranger Things" actress said. "I'm not calling anyone a liar. I'm just saying, it's difficult and upsetting for me to wrap my head around it."

"Look, it was a long time ago, but we were together for four years, and it was a big relationship for me. Imagine if someone you dated when you were - I was 17 when I met him - was accused of that," she added. "It's just shocking. I have never seen him be violent toward a person before."

Amid his ongoing drama with Amber, Johnny was spotted hanging out with his pal Doug Stanhope at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 25. Johnny surprised everyone inside the venue by hopping onstage at the end of Mat Edgar's set.

The outing came after Doug defended Johnny against Amber's allegations that the actor abused her. In his article for TheWrap, Doug said that Amber was "manipulative" and she was planning on blackmailing Johnny.
