AceShowbiz - Calvin Harris and Rihanna scored a big hit in 2011 with "We Found Love", which helped him reach mainstream success as it spent a total of 10 weeks at the top spot of Billboard Hot 100. The two have now repeated the feat with their latest collaboration, "This Is What You Came For".
The single was released in April, just days after it was first announced and days after Harris reunited onstage with RiRi during the Coachella festival. It has been steadily climbing up the charts with it reaching No. 6, its new peak, on the Hot 100 this week. It has so far peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and Dance Club Songs chart.
Harris' excited to get to work with Rihanna again. In a chat on Ryan Seacrest's "On Air" show following the song's release, the Scottish DJ praised his collaborator, saying, "[Rihanna] has this iconic voice, and when you give her a certain type of song to sing, it's just next level."
"This Is What You Came For" serves as the first preview of the 32-year-old producer's new album, a follow-up to 2014's "Motion". No release date has been set for the project, but he has said that he's currently working on it with "people that [he] loves working with," including John Newman who previously joined him on "Blame".
However, fans shouldn't expect a new collaboration with Ellie Goulding, who said earlier this year that she had another song with Harris coming out. The DJ revealed that he did work with the British songbird, whom he enlisted for his worldwide hits "I Need Your Love" and "Outside", but their latest song wasn't done and it might end up getting scrapped.
