Wrestler-turned-actor The Rock is reportedly eyed by Universal Pictures to star in the reboot project.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson keeps adding a new project to his long list of busy schedule. Having been attached as producer for a film adaptation of Jay Longino's graphic novel "Son of Shaolin" for Sony Pictures, the actor is reportedly wanted by Universal Pictures to lead its "The Wolfman Reboot", Deadline reports.

The upcoming reboot has been in the works at Universal with Aaron Guzikowski penning the script. The project is part of the studio's plan to revive its classic monsters. It will be included in the studio's shared monster universe, which is being overseen by Alex Kurtzman ("Now You See Me 2") and Chris Morgan ("Fast and Furious 6"). Morgan wrote the screenplay of "Furious 7", which Johnson also starred in.

There is no confirmation yet from the actor and no other details about "The Wolfman Reboot" are available as of now.

It has been reported that other famous characters such as the Mummy, Frankenstein and Dracula will inhabit the same universe and interact with one another across films and plots.

"The Wolfman" reboot is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on April 13, 2018.
