Here's What Katherine Waterston May Actually Play in 'Alien: Covenant'
Movie

It is said that Waterston's character Daniels in the upcoming 'Alien: Covenant' may share a close bond with the 'Alien' movies' original heroine Ellen Ripley.

AceShowbiz - It has been known that Katherine Waterston will portray Daniels in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" sequel, "Alien: Covenant". New tidbit now reveals that the character's role may be more important than we thought.

Daniels is the female lead character in the film. She is a crew member in a colony ship Covenant. According to The Playlist, Daniels is the mother of Ellen Ripley, the series' original heroine who was portrayed by Sigourney Weaver in the original "Alien" movies.

"Waterston will be playing Ellen Ripley's mother in 'Alien: Covenant', which is an amazing twist and true to Scott's promise that the post-'Prometheus' prequels will eventually lead right up to the first 'Alien' movie," sources close to the film and the actress told the site. "But it should be noted that Waterston isn't the lead of the movie, and it's an ensemble piece like 'Prometheus'."

However, the leaked detail has been removed from the original article.

The first look at Waterston's character was posted on Twitter on Thursday, May 26. The photo shows Daniels with her short hair hiding from something as she is holding what appears to be a pretty big gun.

The story is based on a screenplay written by Jack Paglen ("Transcendence") and Michael Green ("Green Lantern"). Scott seeks to correct the series' course of the film after "Prometheus" left many questions unanswered.

"Alien: Covenant" will hit theaters across the nation on August 4, 2017.
