The 90-minute finale will introduce Claire's daughter Brianna and Reverend Wakefield's adopted son Roger Wakefield.

AceShowbiz - "Outlander" fans will get plenty of time to watch their favorite characters before the show takes a break. The show will get a super-size episode for its second season finale that will run for 90 minutes on Saturday, July 9 starting at 9/8c on Starz.

On top of that, the special 90-minute finale will travel to the future to introduce two new characters, Claire's daughter Brianna (portrayed by Sophie Skelton) and Reverend Wakefield's adopted son Roger Wakefield (portrayed by Richard Rankin).

According to the official description of the season ender, we will flash forward to 1968 during when Claire visits Scotland with her 20-year-old daughter Brianna. There, they meet a grown-up Roger, the little boy who's seen hanging around the Rev. Wakefield's home in the 1940s. Claire visits Lallybroch and Culloden Moor to make peace with the past, while Brianna and Roger bond over researching Randall family history.

Claire finally reveals the truth to Brianna about her time travel through the stones, her life in 1700's Scotland, and Brianna's true parentage. The story is intercut with another one back in the 18th century, which happens on the day of the Battle of Culloden. When Jamie's last ditch attempts to deter The Prince fail, he and Claire come up with a dangerous plan - which Dougal overhears, inciting him to a murderous rage. Jamie must do everything he can to save the ones he loves, even if it means saying goodbye to some-or all-of them.

In the book "Dragonfly in Amber" on which the second season is based, Claire and Brianna's trip to Scotland is used as a framing device to tell the story of the Jacobite Uprising. The show, however, tells the story of Claire and Jamie's experience in France in a more straightforward manner, hence delaying the introduction of Brianna.
