Simon Cowell and His Snarky Comments Make Return on 'America's Got Talent' Season 11 Premiere

The British music mogul joins Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B. as a judge on the NBC talent show and gets to witness some interesting and weird acts.

AceShowbiz - Simon Cowell made his return to TV as "America's Got Talent" judge in the season 11 premiere that aired on Tuesday, May 31. So, how was his first day on the judging table with various acts showing their best talents?

The former "American Idol" judge was nice to the first contestant, a 6-year-old named Nathan who's doing comedy. The boy got four yeses. Continuing the cuteness, Jose Fuentes showed up next with his dancing dog Carrie. Surprisingly, Simon was among the three judges who gave Jose and Carrie a pass.

Up next was a clairvoyant named Amelie who managed to guess random items pulled by her partner out of people's handbags. They, of course, were sent through. The next act to show its talent was a group of four named Linkin Bridge. Singing an a cappella version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", they managed to mesmerize Simon and got four yeses.

Simon once again showed his sense of humor when judging a group of boys dressing in drag and calling themselves Spice Girlz. The British music mogul said, "This is what the girls could have been like if they could sing," with a laugh. The judges sent them through.

A Japanese guy performing magic show and a married couple who danced and sang also made it through. Even a weird talent like Tape Face, who came to the stage with a strip of tape across his mouth and didn't talk a bit, got four yeses from the judges. Simon called it "simple, clever, unique, funny and brilliant."

Next, Ryan Stock and his assistant AmberLynn showed a trick that was too shocking for judge Heidi Klum. Ryan shoved a pair of scissors and a meat hook up his nose. The judges, except Heidi, sent them through.

Simon finally showed his side that we knew from his days on "Idol" when some mediocre singers tried their luck on the show. But things got better when a 13-year-old girl named Laura performed an opera number that brought the judges on their feet. "What made it even better is that you are such a sweet person, so humble," Simon praised the girl.

Wrapping up the night was 61-year-old Greg who claimed he was the most "danger-seeking" act of the night. He basically did nothing special as he jumped into an inflatable tub of shaving cream and balloons. The judges were not impressed.
